Plan Outline

Cognitive Science has recently emerged as an exciting and fruitful domain of scientific inquiry in which there has been a convergence of a number of disciplines including artificial intelligence, psychology, philosophy, linguistics and neuroscience. Since the revolutionary developments in these fields during the 1950s and 1960s, there has come to be a broad consensus that the problems of mind, language, knowledge and perception do not belong exclusively to any one discipline, but fall to all of them. The Cognitive Science program has been established with a view to providing a comprehensive perspective on Cognitive Science, in the same interdisciplinary spirit which is characteristic of the field.

Plan Structure

Students must complete four courses to qualify for the Graduate Diploma (program 5225, plan code HPSCBS5225), including HPSC5200 and excluding HPSC5020.
