Plan Outline

Internetworking

This major provides specialised education in all aspects of computer network programming and administration. It is aimed at graduates with a four year technical degree in science, mathematics, or engineering.

COMP9024 Data Structures & Algorithms (6 UOC)
COMP9311 Database Systems (6 UOC)
COMP9331 Computer Networks&Applications (6 UOC)
COMP9332 Network Routing and Switching (6 UOC)
INFS5983 Business Data Communications (6 UOC)
SENG9338 Networks Project (6 UOC)

Secondary Core Requirement

Complete four courses from the following:

COMP9031 Internet Programming (6 UOC)
COMP9201 Operating Systems (6 UOC)
COMP9314 Next Generation Database Systs (6 UOC)
COMP9316 eCommerce Implementation (6 UOC)
COMP9333 Advanced Computer Networks (6 UOC)
COMP9334 Systems Capacity Planning (6 UOC)
INFS5926 Advanced Data Management (6 UOC)
INFS5984 Information Systems Security (6 UOC)
TELE9303 Network Management (6 UOC)

With approval from the CSE Student Office, students may be allowed to take any other COMP course towards the secondary core requirement, provided they have met the pre-requisite.

Students may also choose to substitute one free elective from anywhere at UNSW, provided it is of postgraduate level and permission has been obtained from the course authority.
