Plan Outline

This plan provides postgraduate preparation for education and service in refugee and forced migration development work. It includes study in social and community development theory and practice, social policy in development, program management and evaluation and specialised studies in refugees and forced migration. It is designed to address the continuing education needs of specialists in this field as well as to provide a general orientation for those wanting to enter the field.

Plan Structure

The Graduate Diploma of Social Development in Refugees and Forced Migration (program 5557, plan code SOCWGS5557) offers a graduate qualification in social development practice with a refugee and forced migration focus. It requires the completion of a total of 32 units of credit of core and elective courses.

SOCW7851 Community Development (8 UOC)

Elective courses

Electives equivalent to 16 uoc from any of the following courses listed for the plan being undertaken, subject to the Co-ordinator's approval.
