Plan Outline

This plan provides postgraduate preparation for education and service in community development. It includes study in social and community development theory and practice, social policy in development, program management and evaluation and specialised studies in areas of community development. It is designed to address the continuing education needs of specialists in this field as well as to provide a general orientation for those wanting to enter the field.

Plan Structure

The Graduate Diploma of Social Development in Community Development (program 5557, plan code SOCWFS5557) offers a graduate qualification in social development practice with an international focus. It requires the completion of a total of 32 units of credit of core and elective courses.

Electives equivalent to 16 uoc from any of the following courses listed for the plan being undertaken, subject to the Coordinator's approval.
