Plan Outline

The Information Systems specialisation is aimed at students interested in information systems and their ability to support organisational objectives. Opportunities in the information systems and information technology area range widely depending on individual skills and preferences and include: IT consultants, database administrators, telecommunication specialists, World Wide Web designers and technical managers.

This specialisation focuses on the effective use of information systems and supporting technology within organisations.

Plan Structure

In order to qualify for the Information Systems specialisation, in addition to core and elective courses students must complete

2 disciplinary core courses:
and 4 disciplinary courses selected from the following list:

Professional Accreditation

Australian Computer Society (ACS)
The MCom in Information Systems meets the requirements for Professional Level accreditation of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Students seeking professional accreditation are advised to confirm requirements with ACS. Please refer to their website at: www.acs.org.au

Basis for Accreditation

1. Satisfactory completion of the following core courses:
