Plan Outline

This specialisation is no longer offered to commencing students.

The Business Economics and Statistics specialisation combines the study of economics and statistics and provides the student with a broad understanding of the commercial environment and the practical ability to analyse business and economic data.

A postgraduate degree specialising in Business Economics and Statistics can lead to a career in business, government, teaching and research. Indeed, all careers involve aspects of management; decision making, data analysis and problem solving all which are crucial components of a business statistics and economics discipline.

Plan Structure

In order to qualify for the Business Economics and Statistics specialisation, in addition to core and elective courses students must complete at least 6 of the following courses:
Note that ECON5197 and ECON5299 are 12UOC courses, therefore each course counts as two courses towards the six required for the specialisation. Also, courses ECON5201 and ECON5284 are not offered in 2005.

With the permission of the Head of School, students may be allowed to substitute other postgraduate courses offered by the School of Economics for those listed here. Students should contact the
