ASU Course Code: CPP 591
The course prepares students to understand and manage human and technical resources within the increasingly important cyber and information security domains with a substantive focus on these issues within the United States governance system. As high-profile data breaches and cyber attacks – that result in physical losses, disruptions, and disasters -- impose greater risks and costs on our public and private sector - as well as military and intelligence - networks, the policy and management aspects of these challenges have come to the fore. Compounding the technical and operational challenges arising from the protection of operating systems, networking, and systems administration, managers and Chief Technology/Risk/Security/Data/Information Officers face a multi-dimensional set of political risks, including how to effectively manage data content and evaluation, information veracity, and information sharing and distribution.
