Description
This course examines the dynamics of the Middle East and the impact of the region on the broader framework of international politics. The course provides the background needed to understand the patterns of relationships between the states of the Middle East and the nature of the systems of government in the region. Topics include the origins of and motives for violence in the Middle East and the role of Turkey and Iran in the region. You will also examine organisations such as Islamic State, and the impact of United States policies on the region.
