Description

This elective course is intended for Interpreting and Translation students who wish to enhance their bilingual proficiency in order to reach high professional standards. The aim of the course is two-fold. Firstly, it will provide scaffolded lectures and tutorials so that the students can develop their own tools and strategies to enhance their bilingual proficiency on the basis of theory and practice. Secondly, it will help students to develop generic skills required by their profession including communication skills, problem-solving skills, critical and reflective thinking skills as they participate in a variety of learner-centered activities during interactive tutorials. The knowledge and skills taught in this course will serve the students as a strong foundation on which they will build most efficiently interpreting and translation skills taught in other I & T specific courses.
