Description

This course trains students into giving qualitative and quantitative insights into the relative merits of agreed options by using live and constructive simulation, studies and experimentation tools to provide rigour and structured analysis to support major decisions. Topics covered include: Business Cases, Options Development, Best Practice of Experimentation and Experimentation Design, Measures of effectiveness and data collection, Gaming, Agent-based Modelling, Experimentation, Decision Making Under Uncertainty and Risk, SMART and AHP.

Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of this course:
1. You will understand the context of capability based planning and various theoretical perspectives, processes and techniques used in strategic management.
2. You will enhance your skills in analysing capability gaps and generating options to address these gaps.
3. You will have developed skills in analysing different capabilities and options and selecting appropriate tools to choose among these options. You will understand principles for developing a coherent and informative business case based on your analysis.
4. You will learn decision making techniques under risk for single and multiple attribute decision problems.
