Description

Mental ill health is a major contributor to disease burden in Australia, but responses to it are relatively poorly resourced. This course examines policy responses in prevention, health promotion, treatment and social services. Class participation is an integral part of the course, which focuses on the social determinants and welfare implications of mental illness. It also addresses policy formulation for preventing mental illness and promoting mental health in the population at large or in specific communities.
