Description
This course is attached to the Master of Arts in Interpreting and Translation Studies and is a requirement for obtaining NAATI accreditation. It will give students opportunities to observe professional interpreters and translators at work; visit and experience various settings where translators are required; participate in a mentoring program with practitioners; perform simulated and real life interpreting and translation practice under supervision; acquire related professional skills such as project management skills, using CAT tools, marketing and business skills; and participate in other related activities, such as Interpreting and Translation conferences and seminar attendance; service to the national professional association (AUSIT), resource development and participation in research projects.
