Description
All organisations are impacted by the international environment in which they operate. An understanding of international trade and finance issues is crucial when business is conducted across national borders. This course develops a framework for understanding these issues and applying them to develop sound business strategies for global expansion. By the end of the course you should be able to:
- interpret international trade/finance statistics;
- understand the determinants of trade;
- evaluate trade policy;
- explain the motivation for trade agreements;
- understand the operation of foreign exchange markets and the international monetary system;
- evaluate the risks of investing in developing countries.
The over-riding objective is to use these skills to articulate comprehensive/cohesive global expansion strategies for any firm.
