Description

Information systems operations, or IT operations, are a superset of processes and services that are provisioned by an IT organisation to their internal and external clients and used by themselves, to run the operations as a business. Usually, such processes and services include management, envisioning, planning, design, implementation, construction, distribution, verification, installation, execution and maintenance. They endeavour to define common processes and procedures, policies, roles, responsibilities, terminology, best practices and standards for running an enterprise. INFS5732 provides an overview of IT operations based on the industry standard called ITIL.
