Description

PLEASE NOTE:
  • For non-award students, the appropriate background is normally a Bachelor of Engineering. Other Bachelor degrees in Science, Commerce and Law might be acceptable.
  • This course will be offered in a purely online, or distance, mode. Lectures and tutorials will be provided online and assignments will also be submitted online.
A cross-disciplinary course that provides the fundamentals for assessment of operational energy efficiency in a range of systems. The course allows students to develop skills in designing energy efficient systems in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The emphasis in this course is on whole of system design to minimise energy usage of, for example, water heating, refrigeration, lighting, HVAC, electric motors systems, pumps and fans, compressed air, furnaces and process steam. Transport and water efficiency as well as energy efficiency standards and policy are also examined.
