Description

With the move to school-based management, school leaders need to understand the key issues relating to legal, industrial and ethical issues as they pertain to their school context.This course will provide a sound base for aspiring and practicing leaders and allow for more effective management of legal and industrial issues at the school level.

Research, laws, policy development, practice and specific case studies will be considered to cover such areas as Industrial relations, Occupational Health and Safety, grievances and dispute management, privacy laws, duty of care,negligence, copyright, anti-discrimination,freedom of information,intellectual property,child protection, family law and ethical decision-making

The modules will be taught by highly experienced senior education practitioners and students will be provided with best practice policy and models in this area.

This course consists of four modules which can be completed as an elective course in either the Graduate Certificate of Educational Leadership or the Master of Educational Leadership.
