Description

This course surveys a range of contemporary issues related to and impacting on higher education. Although potentially very broad, the scope of the course will be limited to focus on a few key themes. Beginning with an exploration of the concept of higher education itself, students will be introduced to various ideas and debates relating to the history and purpose of higher education, the role higher education plays, for example, in terms of students, the community and employers, and issues related to the structure and organisation of academic work and higher education.
