Description This course provides an overview of the fundamental elements required to provide telecommunication services and management information systems. Communication topics include: fundamentals of electric signals; modulation and multiplexing techniques; management of the electromagnetic spectrum and acts controlling its use; video signals and systems; radio wave propagation; basic antenna theory; receiver and transmitter design; types of communications systems; and local and wide area networks. The fundamentals of information systems are presented including: information processing concepts and architectures; operating systems; databases; software languages and development; and the storage, retrieval and management of information.
