Description

A critical aspect of developing capacity quality learning and teaching in higher education is the development of scholarly leadership of learning and teaching. This course enables participants to use their understanding of the scholarship and practice of learning and teaching to raise awareness of, to better understand the necessity for, and the role of leadership in, learning and teaching development. The course aims to move participants beyond a focus on individual teaching to one that locates teaching in the broader context. Further it examines key areas that are critical in bringing about changes that are effective and sustainable. These include:- The role of the teacher as leader and change agent;- Strategies for working with and influencing others;- Strategies to plan for and introduce change;- Strategies to evaluate changes;- The use of feedback from multiple sources to inform the enhancement of learning and teaching.
