Description

Links the study of development to the practice of development. Students conduct a piece of policy work for an outside or a UNSW organisation, under the joint guidance of a workplace supervisor and an academic supervisor. The student's goal is to make a useful contribution to the development goals, policies or programs of the organisation, and in doing this, to link the experience to the body of academic knowledge about development. Each project is individually designed, and the precise format varies. Some are relatively detached research exercises; others may involve recommending or implementing change as well as researching it.
