Description The course provides an introduction to occupational health and safety and its management. Topics discussed include OHS concepts, OHS law,
workers compensation and injury management, incident reporting, training and consultation. Human aspects of OHS management such as safety culture, human behaviour, and human error will be introduced. The assessment of control workplace environment risks is considered with a particular focus on noise and electricity. Students will also learn more about collecting and analysing data for use in OHS applications. The course is the first in the OHS programs and will provide learning skills to be used in subsequent courses. Please note: this course changed code in 2010 from SESC9101 to the current code SAFE9101.
