Description

This course will address the principles and practices of chronic disease prevention and management as it relates to the Australian Health system. Students will gain knowledge and skill in the analysis of the impact and challenge of chronic disease within health care systems from the perspective of different stakeholders; evaluation of the effectiveness of health care programs and strategies to prevent and manage chronic disease, and design of innovations to address these issues and translation of innovations into the health system. Assessment includes critical analysis of paper on chronic disease prevention or management, an essay critically analysing an innovation in chronic disease prevention or management, and a review of policy related to chronic disease management.
