Description This course will provide the framework for analysing Australian homeland security. The course will cover such issues as the nature of terrorism and asymmetric warfare, biological, chemical and nuclear terrorism, critical infrastructure protection, cyber-security, the organisation of homeland security in Australia, consequence management, and the role of defence in homeland security. The course will examine the threats, actors and organisational structures and resources required to protect the Australian homeland from the new terror threats and to minimise any damage. The course will involve contributions from the intelligence community, health professionals, and first responders.
