Description

Students who are undertaking this course will have some background in basic statistics and quantitative methods.  Using this knowledge as a base, this course will develop probabilistic and statistical concepts, methods and models that are useful in understanding the type of data encountered in business. Methods will include an extensive discussion of regression analysis and some of its extensions and may include methods associated decision theory and simulation. It addition to the development of specific statistical methods and techniques the course will discuss strategies for approaching and solving real problems, will provide experience in learning from associated data and will stress the role that quantitative methods play in the managerial decision making process.
