Description

There are a number of clinical courses available for the study of mental illnesses and disorders. This course is aimed at students who wish to investigate the policy implications of preventing mental illnesses and of promoting mental health. A major project, which is developed throughout the course, is the planning and design of a project that could either alleviate mental illness in a community of the student’s choice, or a program to promote mental health in this community. Class participation is an integral part of the course, which focuses on the social determinants of mental illness.
