Description

This course guides participants through a detailed analysis in Implementing Health Care in the Community. Challenges and issues encountered in implementation are examined and practical solutions explored. The course is designed for health professionals who have had some prior exposure to the concepts and practice of Primary Health Care, and draws upon relevant case studies for the analysis. Cases include delivery of preventive care and early intervention, shifting care from hospital to community, integration between primary and secondary care for mental illness, management of chronic disease in the community, community development and population health in disadvantaged communities.
