Description

An examination of the principal theories and techniques which are the foundation of current analytical research in Western music. Topics include: Schenker and his followers; principles of Schenkerian analysis and graphing techniques; recent developments in tonal analysis; pre-serial atonality; analysis of serial music; atonal music analysis.
