Description

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the principles and practice of data management. The ability to extract and manage large databases using modern software is essential to modern statistical practice. Large databases - often with tens of millions of records - are routinely found in health (for example, records of hospitalisations and Medicare data) business, finance, and government. Skills in extracting, querying, cleaning and managing large datasets are widely sought by employers. Students will gain practical experience in modern data management mainly using the programs SAS and R.

Note: Course not offered every year - contact School for more information.
