Description

Provides a practical introduction to modern language teaching methodology, with a focus on teaching English to adult second language learners. Includes observation of classes in a language teaching institution and an optional practicum.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

Demonstrate initial, practical skills and knowledge in the teaching of English as a second or subsequent language
Demonstrate skills in using English as a medium of instruction
Demonstrate knowledge and skills in lesson planning, delivery, and evaluation
Select, devise and use appropriate teaching tasks and materials.
