Description Lectures/Tutorials - Principles and applications of physical mineral processing, hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy covering comminution, flotation, solid/liquid separation, dewatering, leaching, solvent extraction, purification and separation processes, electrowinning/refining and waste processing. Emphasis is placed on throughput and process calculations for the design of mineral processing plants.
In addition, there will be a project component on an individual study basis. The individual study project is to be chosen in the areas identified by codes M-Minerals and U-Waste Processing and pollution control (see School for details). |
