Description

This course explores Indigenous research methods and approaches and the issues that arise when undertaking social research with Indigenous communities. The course analyses the impact of past research on Indigenous communities and addresses such issues as Indigenous cultural and intellectual property rights, custodianship and research ownership, researcher responsibilities and Indigenous ethical research protocols. Students will design their own research methodology and research proposal.
