Description SOMA9751 is a studio-based course and provides the student with an understanding of complex 3D cgi character creation through modelling, texturing and hierarchical control systems (rigging).
The two briefs undertaken in the session will provide students with the skills to create and control complex 3D characters as a foundation for their major work undertaken in session two (SOMA9500 major project). This course would suit anyone who wishes to gain higher level of skills related to the subject. It is an intensive course and would require an understanding of both the 3D cgi software environment and working practices at least to the standard of an undergraduate degree or work experience equivalent.
