Description

The goal of this course is to introduce health professionals to communications technologies that are commonly used in health ICT projects. The basic types of communication channels and services are introduced and their different characteristics and roles explained. Network technologies are explained, including the network layer model, middleware, and Internet and Web protocols. Issues of data protection and confidentiality are discussed. The practical component of the course enables participants to acquire web-publishing and web-site design skills.
