Description This course aims to broaden your knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and will focus on four broad themes: Investigating successive government policy and its instrumental role in exacerbating and maintaining the ongoing and inequitable burden of suffering experienced by Indigenous Australians; health promotion and primary health care, exploring Indigenous perceptions of wellbeing as well as health approaches that are informed by more comprehensive and holistic views of health care; investigating research into Indigenous health issues in a range of contexts, and; examining advocacy and activism and their critical contribution to the development of more appropriate health services for Indigenous families and communities.
