Description

A major project (8,000 words) involving the design of an ESL/EFL language course, a project in testing/evaluation or in classroom practices in TESOL, a CALL program in TESOL or another TESOL-related topic.

Note: Not advised for those in their first semester of study. Normally requires a Distinction average.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students should have:
  • Completed a major project involving some form of research related to TESOL (such as the design of ESL/EFL teaching materials, or the investigation of a classroom issue such as the impact of teaching students certain language learning strategies)
  • Increased their skills in defining areas of enquiry and methods of research
  • Developed their attention to detail.
