Description

Examines and compares the operation of major institutions and doctrines of constitutional law in Australia, the United States, Canada, Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Ireland and elsewhere. Differences and similarities are noted and assessed. Topics include: constitutionalism; constitutional entrenchment; constitutional transitions; constitutional borrowings and transplants; judicial review; affirmative action; and federalism and protection of minorities. The text used is V. Jackson and M. Tushnet, Comparative Constitutional Law (Foundation Press, New York, 1999).
