Description

This course will examine the law of international institutions with particular reference to the United Nations and Specialized Agencies and the law of regional organisations, such as the organisations of the European Union, the Organisation of American States, the Organisation of African Unity, ASEAN and the South Pacific Forum. Common institutional problems will be examined as will the impact of international organisation on the doctrine of sovereign equality of States.
Prerequisite or corequisite: LAWS2081 Public International Law or equivalent
