Description Critically examines various models, including those based upon the needs hierarchy, goal, two-factor, congruence and expectancy theories. Analysis of empirical studies, which investigate the relationships of job satisfaction with other variables such as stress, communication, role conflict, role ambiguity, participative decision-making and organisational commitment. Considers teachers' and trainers' job characteristics, their relationship with job satisfaction and job redesign.
