Description Focuses on concepts and applications. Chacteristics of sets of scores; descriptive statistics. Sampling, estimation, inference. Probability and its estimation. Sampling distributions. The unit normal distribution. Analysis of data from 'two-sample experiments': Student's t-test, the Mann-Whitney U test, Wilcoxon's matched-pairs signed-ranks test. Contingency tables. Correlation and its estimation: Pearson, Spearman and Goodman indices. Chi-squared test of independence. Introduction to the analysis of 'variance'. Simple regression analysis. Use of computer package programs.
