Description This course is for students who want to improve their cultural competence - as health workers, academics, educators, researchers, or policy makers - in working in multicultural settings in Australia, or in developing countries. Students will learn the basic theories and methods of disciplines (including medical anthropology, transcultural psychiatry, cross-cultural psychology, and cultural aspects of international health, and health within culturally pluralistic societies) relevant to the study of health and illness in the setting of multicultural Australia and, at the same time, in developing countries in the Asia Pacific region.
