Description

Students in their final semester of study in either program 8682 or 8684 have the option of replacing 2 group D electives by a 12UC research project.

To be able to enrol in COMP9596, students must have a Distinction (75) average, have failed no courses, and must have reached agreement with an academic supervisor on a research proposal (usually at least 500 words in length), and should describe precisely the scope of the research and its expected outcomes.

Projects often involve software development, but should also include a significant amount of innovative algorithmic design. Projects may also involve hardware development. It is expected that students will submit a research report and give an oral presentation.
