Description

The biomedical engineering Masters Project allows coursework Masters students to experience research training either within the School or with collaborating institutions such as hospitals and CSIRO. Projects are selected by the student in consultation with a supervisor conducting research in an area of interest to the student. If the research topic selected is external to the School/University, the student should nominate an internal advisor. The Project is conducted over 1 session (12 UoC/session). As a general rule, a 12 UoC Project contributes half of a student's load during one session (equivalent to 2 x 6 UoC BIOM Graduate courses). Projects are assessed by successful completion of a small research project and submission of a project report in the format of either a thesis report or a research paper. An oral or poster presentation is required. Full range of grades are applicable. Grading is based on 80% project report and 20% oral presentation.
