Stream Outline
The Honours stream in Creative Writing requires the completion of 48 UOC (the equivalent of one year full-time study or two years part-time study).
The Honours program involves seminars and the completion of a research project or thesis. It consists of 18 UOC of coursework and 30 UOC of thesis/practical project. The thesis/practical project is an undertaking of either an original piece of research extending throughout the year and the submission of a 15,000-word thesis based upon it or a research project, also year-long, involving a practical project and the submission of a written thesis of 7,000 – 10,000 words.

Stream Structure
The stream consists of 48 UOC made up of two components:
Coursework courses (18 UOC)

- ARTS4201 Uses of Theory: Hons (12 UOC)
Honours thesis/Practical project (30 UOC)
Students complete a total of 30 UOC in thesis/practical project chosen from a combination of the following:
- ARTS4620 Creative Writing Honours (6 UOC)
- ARTS4621 Creative Writing Honours (12 UOC)
- ARTS4622 Creative Writing Honours (18 UOC)
- ARTS4623 Creative Writing Honours (24 UOC)
