Plan Outline

This plan is for a major in Safety Science for Science and combined Science students.

A Major sequence is defined as: at least 42 units at Level II and III in a single discipline or area of study, including at least 18 units at Level III.

Plan Structure

For a MAJOR in Safety Science, successful completion of the following is required.

Year 1

SESC1001 Safety, Health and Environment (6 UOC)

12 units of credit from Level 1 Mathematics

Year 2

ANAT2151 Intro Functional Anatomy (3 UOC)
IROB2721 Managing People (6 UOC)
MATH2839 Statistics SM (3 UOC)
SESC2091 Safety, Health & Env Hazards (6 UOC)

MATH2839 may be substituted for another approved statistics course

Year 3

SESC3101 Risk Assessment and Safety Eng (6 UOC)
SESC3541 Assessment of the Wrkplace Env (6 UOC)
SESC3601 Safety,Health & Env.Mgmt.Sys. (6 UOC)
SESC4310 Industrial Safety Management (3 UOC)

Plus additional Level II or III SESC courses to total 42 units of credit.
