Plan Outline

This plan is for a major in Materials Science for Science and combined Science programs.

Materials science/engineering is a broad ranging discipline which applies the principles of science and engineering to the development of metallic, ceramic and polymeric materials and to their manufacture into goods and their subsequent performance. It is founded on the relationship between structure and properties, an understanding of which permits materials to be engineered to specific end use requirements.

For a MAJOR in Materials Science, successful completion of the following courses is required.

Stage 1 Courses
Stage 2 Courses
Stage 3 Courses
Choose 21 units of credit of Level 3 MATS courses including:
  • MATS1213- Surfaces and Control Systems
