Students will develop design research knowledge and skills, and they will produce a substantive design research report based upon an agreed topic. This document, covering problem identification, data gathering and analysis, synthesis of information into a design brief, and design concepts, will guide their future product design endeavours for their final semester Design Studio 8: Integration. At the beginning of the session, Student will undertake a series of projects that will, in addition to consolidating prior design skills and knowledge, develop new professional practice skills and knowledge.
