Description

This course forms a capstone experience for the ADADA2 Creativity and Innovation Stream, and is open to students from all faculties and disciplines. You must have completed ADAD2405 Creative Thinking Processes, ADAD2406 Creative Experimentation, and ADAD2407 Nexus, Collaboration, Innovation, to enrol in this capstone course. It will help you relate and apply creative strategies and processes that you have learned in these other courses within the Creativity and Innovation stream to develop innovative ideas relevant to your own area of study.

This course will help you to develop your own innovative solutions to problems or challenges you identify in your community or discipline, by working within a cross-disciplinary, creative, collaborative environment. You will draw upon your own existing disciplinary knowledge, and the experiences and insight gained from other courses in the Creativity and Innovation stream, to propose your own self directed innovation project. You will be encouraged to work with peers with different knowledge, perspectives and expertise, and be exposed to case studies exploring creative and innovative practice from a range of different disciplines, helping you to contextualise your own ideas.

Whilst completing your projects, you will learn techniques to improve your collaboration and communication in a cross-disciplinary context, giving you the skills you need to draw upon the diverse disciplinary knowledge, skills and expertise or your peers as part of a community of practice – working to help each other reach your goals. At the conclusion of your self-directed project, your final task will be to analyse and evaluate the success of your own cross-disciplinary creative process in achieving your intended aims; and how your experiences within the stream have impacted your own personal perspectives, flexibility, capability to initiate and embrace change, and your ability to think creatively in your everyday practice.
