Description

Graduate recruitment is a competitive selection process. Recruiters are seeking well rounded
individuals who not only have technical knowledge but bring with them a broader range of skills
and attributes. It is important that students be able to demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively, work in a team, develop creative solutions to problems and build collaborative relationships.

This course, which follows Introduction to the Workplace, requires that students undertake a four
week or equivalent experience in a workplace. In addition to completing the professional tasks
set by the workplace supervisor, students are to identify a particular employability skill or a graduate capability they would like to further develop. In consultation with the workplace supervisor, students will identify and participate in development activities both internal and external to the organisation.
Students will reflect on their experience and report on the outcomes of their development goals
throughout and at the conclusion of their professional experience.

Students can complete this course as part of the Diploma of Professional Practice (DPP) or as a
General Education course. DPP students who have successfully completed this course are
eligible to enrol in DIPP1311 Professional Practice 2.
