Description

Develops an understanding of the fundamentals of value management in building design and construction. Students will engage with methodology used in value management and the different techniques that are used in value management studies. The syllabus comprises: value engineering, value analysis, life-cycle costing, design economics, lean construction, value for money, sustainability and modern methods of manufacturing. Students will be able to (1) apply value management principles and techniques to analyse building construction projects and (2) critically review a key aspect of current value management practice in construction.
