Description

This is a course taught over the summer semester for students who are undertaking an Honours year in Indigenous Studies. It will be run as an intensive workshop, held over three days in January. The course is designed to build on and extend research skills developed over an undergraduate degree, and to provide students with an opportunity to begin the Honours year by engaging in sustained and supervised research. The workshop will prepare students for writing an Honours thesis in Indigenous studies. Topics covered include: using the library and databases for advanced research; writing a thesis; using secondary sources; and the role of your supervisor in designing and executing your thesis. Students will work with the Honours convenor and their supervisor to carry out a research project into a general field of literature in an area that will complement the thesis research.
